ScanSpot is a small, independent collection of free online tools — and it is built on one rule: your files stay on your device unless a tool genuinely cannot work that way, and when that happens we say so.
Most "free online tool" sites ask you to upload your document to a server you know nothing about, wait in a queue, and then hand you back a file — often behind a login wall or a watermark. For a PDF merge or an image resize, none of that is necessary. Your browser has been capable of doing the work locally for years.
So ScanSpot runs the file tools in your browser. Resizing, converting, merging, splitting, hashing, viewing a CSV — all of it happens on your own machine, which means no upload wait, no daily quota, and no copy of your document sitting on someone else's disk.
The other half of the site answers a different question: would this business work here? Pick an industry and a spot on the map, and a language model reads nearby competitor data — density, ratings, price level, foot traffic — and scores the location across six dimensions, then writes a diagnosis.
It is a fast first sanity check when you are comparing candidate locations, and nothing more. It cannot see the lease terms, the licensing rules or the landlord. Treat it as one input, not a verdict — the terms spell that out.
ScanSpot is a work in progress and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Package tracking currently identifies the carrier from the tracking number and links you to the carrier's own official tracking page; a paid live timeline is not connected, so the site does not show one rather than inventing events. Some explanatory copy is English-only while the interface is available in eight languages.
Static HTML, CSS and JavaScript, served from Cloudflare's edge, with a handful of serverless functions for the tasks that need a server. No framework, no build step, no tracking beyond basic analytics. That keeps it fast and keeps the running cost low enough to offer the tools for free.
Bug reports, tool suggestions and corrections are genuinely welcome — see the contact page.
