Straight answers about privacy, the AI evaluation, package tracking and what is actually free.
No, not for the file tools. Resizing, compressing and converting images, merging and splitting PDFs, converting PDF pages to images, viewing CSV files and computing file checksums all run inside your browser using its own APIs. Your file is read into memory, processed there, and discarded when you close the tab. Nothing is transmitted, so there is no upload wait and no copy on our side.
No. ScanSpot has no sign-up, no login and no user database. Every tool is usable immediately, and your preferences, saved packages and favourite tools live only in your own browser's local storage.
Yes. All 50+ tools are free with no usage quota, no watermark and no forced account. The AI writing tools carry a fair-use limit, because every request costs us money to serve.
There is no server-side limit on the browser tools, since nothing is uploaded. The practical limit is your own device's memory, so a very large image or PDF may briefly slow the tab down.
You pick an industry and a location on the map. ScanSpot looks up nearby competitors, then sends that competitor data and the coordinates to a language model, which scores the location across six dimensions and writes a diagnosis. It takes about twenty seconds.
Treat it as one informed opinion, not a verdict. The model can misjudge a location, and it cannot see rent, lease terms, licensing rules or zoning. Competitor counts come from map data and may be incomplete. Verify the decisive numbers yourself before committing money — the terms say the same thing in more words.
A live tracking feed is a paid service and ScanSpot has not connected one yet. Rather than showing invented events, the tool identifies the carrier from the tracking number's format and links you directly to that carrier's own tracking page, which is always the most current source. A universal tracker link covers the carriers we cannot name.
Very accurate for major carriers, whose number formats are fixed — UPS numbers begin with 1Z, and international post numbers end in the origin country code. Smaller regional couriers reuse each other's formats, so when a number fits more than one carrier the tool shows the alternatives instead of guessing silently.
From public data providers, proxied through our own API. Exchange rates are mid-market interbank rates, not what your bank will give you — expect a spread of one to three percent on top. Stock quotes are typically delayed by up to fifteen minutes, which is normal for free market data. None of it is suitable for trading, accounting or billing.
No. We do not sell or rent data about you, and there are no advertising networks on this site. We do use Google Analytics to understand which tools people use: it records page views, approximate location and device type, but never the contents of your files or the text you type.
Most file, text and calculator tools keep working once the page has loaded, because they need no server. Tools that fetch live data — currency, stocks, weather, package tracking and the AI tools — need a connection.
Use the contact page. Say which tool, what you did, what you expected and what happened. For display problems, the browser info tool produces a summary that usually saves a round of questions.
