🖥️ Browser Info
Your browser and device details.
Show the browser, engine, operating system, screen and language details your browser reports — useful when filing a bug report or establishing a browser support baseline.
How to use the Browser Info
- Open the page and the details are read from your browser.
- Review the user-agent string, engine, platform and reported capabilities.
- Copy the summary to paste into a bug report.
Why people use it
- A precise browser description saves a round of back-and-forth when troubleshooting.
- Also reports screen size and device pixel ratio, which is usually the missing detail in a layout bug.
- Everything is read locally — nothing about your device is transmitted.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the user-agent string look so long?
It carries decades of compatibility baggage. Browsers keep advertising other engines' tokens so legacy scripts do not break, which is why the string is a poor way to detect a browser and why feature detection is preferred instead.
Why does my user agent name a browser I am not using?
For the same historical reason. Chrome reports Safari and Mozilla tokens, and Edge reports Chrome. The tool shows the string verbatim instead of guessing at it.
What is the device pixel ratio?
The number of physical pixels per CSS pixel. A ratio of 2 means the display packs four physical pixels into every layout pixel, which is why images need 2x assets to look sharp.
