💧 PDF Watermark
Stamp text across the pages. Size, opacity, angle and colour are yours; a diagonal copy stays readable over the content.
Stamp text such as CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or a contact address across a PDF's pages. Set the size, transparency, angle and colour, and choose whether the stamp repeats across each page or sits in one place. The pages are not re-rendered, so the original content is untouched.
How to use the PDF Watermark
- Choose the PDF, then type the watermark text.
- Set size, opacity and angle. Grey text at around 15–25% opacity across the diagonal stays readable on top of most content without hiding it.
- Choose where it goes and press Add watermark.
Why people use it
- A diagonal repeat is awkward to crop out and obvious to a reader, which is rather the point of marking a document as a draft.
- Because the stamp is drawn as real PDF text rather than baked into a picture, the file stays small and the original text stays selectable underneath.
- Confidential documents are exactly the ones that should not be uploaded to a stranger's server to have a word stamped on them. This runs in the browser.
Frequently asked questions
Will the watermark cover the text?
At low opacity, no — it sits over the content the way a rubber stamp does, and both remain readable. If the text must stay fully legible, keep the opacity at 20% or below.
Can I use a logo or an image instead of text?
Not with this tool. It draws text with a standard PDF font, which is exactly why the output stays small and needs no image handling. An image stamp is genuinely harder and is not something this page pretends to do.
Can I remove it again?
Not here, and it is worth knowing before you stamp something. Keep the original and watermark a copy, because there is no separate remove-watermark pass on this site — an honest 'remove watermark' would have to reconstruct the content underneath, and that is not possible.
