Markdown Preview for Analysts

Type your analysis notes in Markdown and preview the rendered output before you paste them into the wiki.

The tools that come up when the actual job is interpreting data rather than collecting it: CSV viewer with column typing for the export you just got from the database, JSON formatter for the API response, regex tester against the source string, base64 for the binary blob someone embedded in a JSON field, hash for source verification, and the AI summarizer for digesting long-form sources.

What it does for Data analysts and researchers

How to use it

  1. Paste or type Markdown in the left pane. The preview updates as you type so you can see the effect of every change in place.
  2. Toggle GFM off if you are writing pure CommonMark and want to be sure the result will hold up on stricter readers.
  3. Copy the source Markdown, or copy the rendered HTML if the destination accepts it directly.

Common questions

Will my notes be saved if I close the tab?

Treat the preview as a scratch pad and keep the master copy in your own editor or repository. The preview is there to check structure before the text goes anywhere else.

Why does my table render as plain text?

A Markdown table needs the header row, a separator row of dashes, and the same number of pipes on every line. One missing separator collapses the whole block into an ordinary paragraph.

Is it safe to use for documentation that ships?

Fine for drafting and structure checks. For anything published, keep the Markdown in your repository and let your own toolchain render it, so what you reviewed is exactly what ships.
