🗂️ Organize PDF

Reorder the pages, take out the ones you do not need, and save. Drag a page to move it. Nothing is uploaded.

Drag a page to move it. The × puts a page aside, and the rest close the gap.

PDFs arrive out of order more often than people expect: a signed page appended at the end, a cover added last, an appendix that belongs in the middle. This tool lays the pages out as a strip you can drag into shape, lets you put the ones you do not want aside, and writes a new file whose page order is exactly the one on screen.

How to use the Organize PDF

  1. Open the PDF. Every page becomes a tile with its page number, and a thumbnail where the browser can draw one.
  2. Drag a tile to move it, or use the arrows on the tile. The × puts a page aside — it stays visible, dimmed, so putting it back is another click.
  3. Press Save the PDF. The download holds only the pages you kept, in the order shown, and the counter above the button always says how many that is.

Why people use it

  • Page order lives inside the file, not in the viewer, and most viewers only pretend to let you change it — the rearrangement is discarded on save, or never written at all. This copies the pages into a new document in the arrangement you built, so what you download is what you saw.
  • A removed page is not deleted until you save. That sounds like a small thing until you have taken out page 12 of a scan by mistake and had to start over: here the tile stays on screen, greyed out, and the counter tells you what the file will contain before you commit to it.
  • Nothing leaves the browser. The file is parsed and rewritten by JavaScript on your own machine, which is the whole point when the document is a contract, a tenancy agreement, an ID scan or a medical record — the files people most often need to reorder are the ones they least want to upload.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pull a few pages out into their own file?

Yes: put everything else aside and save. If you already know the range, the split tool is quicker, because it can name pages directly (3-7) instead of asking you to clear the rest.

Do links and bookmarks survive?

Links and the text layer do — pages are copied, not re-rendered, so nothing is flattened into an image. The document outline (bookmarks) does not: those entries point at page objects, and a reordered copy replaces them. If the outline matters more than the order, edit it in a full PDF editor.

Can I duplicate a page?

Not from this strip — each page is copied once. Save the file, then merge it with itself if a page genuinely has to appear twice.

What about a password-protected PDF?

It has to open without a password. An encrypted file is refused rather than half-read, because a partial rewrite of an encrypted document is how people end up with a file that will not open at all.
