UUID Generator for Small Business

Bulk v4 UUIDs in CSV / SQL / JSON formats, for seeding an import or a fixture.

The everyday operating tools of a one-to-five-person business: shrink a product photo for the marketplace, generate a QR code for the storefront, check the exchange rate before quoting a customer, generate UUIDs for an import, summarize a competitor blog post, count the words on a product description. Cheap, fast, and your inventory photos never leave your device.

What it does for Small business owners and solo operators

How to use it

  1. Pick how many IDs you need and which output format.
  2. Click generate. The randomness is sampled without modulo bias, so every possible 128-bit value is equally likely.
  3. Copy the result into your CSV import, your migration script, or your test fixture.

Common questions

What is a v4 UUID, in plain terms?

A random 128-bit identifier with the version and variant bits set aside, which leaves enough randomness that collisions are not a practical concern. It carries no meaning and no order.

Should invoice or order numbers be UUIDs?

Usually not. Staff read order numbers aloud and customers quote them back, so a short sequential number with a prefix works better there. Keep UUIDs for internal keys, imports and fixtures.

Can I generate a whole batch at once?

Yes - generate in bulk and copy the result as CSV, SQL or JSON, which is what you want when seeding a test database or pre-allocating keys for an import.
