A keyboard-friendly calculator with a running history. Type an expression the way you would write it and press Enter to evaluate it.
How to use the Calculator
- Type an expression, for example
(120*1.2)-15, and press Enter. - The result appears immediately and is appended to the history list below.
- Click any history entry to reuse it in a new calculation.
Why people use it
- The history pane lets you check an earlier step instead of re-entering it.
- Order of operations is handled correctly, so you do not have to bracket everything.
- Works with the numeric keypad and the Enter key, so it behaves like a desktop calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Does it respect the order of operations?
Yes. Multiplication and division are evaluated before addition and subtraction, and brackets override that. So 2+3*4 is 14, not 20.
How many history entries are kept?
History lives in the page for the current session. Reloading clears it, so copy anything you need to keep.
Why does 0.1+0.2 give 0.30000000000000004?
Floating-point arithmetic cannot represent 0.1 exactly in binary. Every calculator built on IEEE 754 doubles behaves this way, including JavaScript and most spreadsheets.
