🎯 Random Name Picker
Draw a winner from a list — one, several at once, or shuffle the whole list.
Paste a list and let the tool choose. The picker draws one winner, draws several at once without repeats, or shuffles the entire list into a random order. Each entry goes on its own line and blank lines are ignored. It draws from the browser's cryptographic random source, so the result is genuinely unpredictable rather than following the deterministic sequence Math.random walks through — which matters when something is actually at stake.
How to use the Random Name Picker
- Paste your list, one entry per line.
- Choose a mode: pick one, pick several, or shuffle the order.
- Set how many winners you need if you are drawing more than one.
- Run the draw, then copy the result before closing the tab.
Why people use it
- Classroom and meeting draws where everyone can see how the choice was made.
- Giveaways and raffles that need a process you can defend afterwards.
- Shuffling a playlist, a task list or a set of speaking slots.
- Assigning chores, seats or shifts without complaints about favouritism.
Frequently asked questions
Is the draw still fair if I run it twice?
Each run is an independent draw, so a second run is a genuine redraw and can produce a different winner. That is correct behaviour for a random process — but for a public giveaway, run it once, in public, and keep that result.
How many entries can it handle?
Thousands comfortably. The list is processed in memory and nothing is sent anywhere, so the only real limit is your device's available memory.
Can anyone else see the list I paste?
No. The list stays in your browser and is never transmitted. The trade-off is that it is not saved either: closing the tab clears it, so copy the result before you leave.
