🔄 Rotate PDF
Turn pages upright. Pick the direction, and the page range if only some pages came out sideways.
Turn the pages of a PDF so they read the right way up. Rotate the whole file, or only the pages that came out sideways — the usual case being a scanner that fed one sheet the wrong way round, or a phone photo that became a landscape page.
How to use the Rotate PDF
- Choose the PDF.
- Pick 90° clockwise, 90° anticlockwise or 180°. Leave the page box empty to turn every page, or enter a range such as
1,3-5. - Press Rotate and download. The turn is added to whatever rotation the page already had, so running it twice turns a page twice.
Why people use it
- Fixes the one wrong page in a scan without redoing the whole document, because you can name the pages you mean.
- Text, links and the searchable text layer all survive, because nothing is re-rendered — the page property changes and the content stays where it was.
- Mixed rotations stay sensible: a page already at 90° plus another 90° becomes 180°, not 0°.
Frequently asked questions
Which way is 90° clockwise?
It turns the top of the page to the right. For a portrait scan whose text runs bottom-to-top that is usually the one you want; if the result comes out upside down, rotate 180° instead.
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Type its number in the page box, or a list like 2,4-6 for several, or 3- style ranges. Leaving the box empty means every page.
Why does my file still look sideways in one viewer?
Rotation is stored as a page property rather than applied to the content, and a few old or minimal viewers ignore it. Every mainstream viewer — Chrome, Acrobat, Preview, pdf.js — honours it.
